Rights-Driven Approach
Right to Kick is a Sports for Development organization using football to create safe spaces for young people in rural Ranchi, India. Through Sports Development, we empower children to access their rights to education, health, play, and protection. Our work supports UN Sustainable Development Goals including SDG 3: Good Health, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
Aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, we advocate for the Right to Play, Right to Education, Right to Health, and Right to Protection from violence. Our young players have represented India on national and international stages, demonstrating the power of football to transform lives and communities.
Empowerment through football: nurturing rights, health, and future leaders in every game we play.
Vision
We envision a world where all children are aware of and can access their rights.
Mission
To promote and protect the rights of children, including their right to play, right to education, right to protection, and right to personal development. We create a safe and healthy platform through sports where girls and boys can enhance their performance to reach national and international levels, empowering them to succeed in life. We ensure equal opportunities for children to excel both on and off the field by delivering life skills sessions through football.

Community Football Clubs
We are proud to support four vibrant communities dedicated to the love of football. These communities are:
- Charihujir Community
- Vikas Community
- Hombai Community
- Konge Community
In each of these communities, players practice football six days a week for two hours. This rigorous training schedule reflects their passion and commitment to the sport. Our players not only work on their physical fitness and technical skills but also learn valuable life lessons such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
Through consistent practice, our players build strong bonds with their teammates and develop a deep sense of camaraderie. Each community provides a supportive environment where players can grow both as athletes and individuals. Our mission is to nurture their potential, encourage their aspirations, and instill a lifelong love for football. Whether aiming to compete at higher levels or simply enjoying the sport, our communities offer the perfect platform for every football enthusiast to thrive.

Kick The Boundaries
Kick the Boundaries is a child rights-focused program where football players are increasingly cognizant of their entitlements, particularly emphasizing the Right to Education, Right to Play, Health, and the prevention of various forms of violence and abuse, such as child marriage. Notably, this year, we successfully facilitated the enrollment of 10 girls in school, resulting in improved attendance rates among children and significantly delaying marriage.
We run My Health My Rights, a joint initiative of Right to Kick and Coaches Across Continents since 2022, under the Kick the Boundaries program. We create safe places for girls to learn about their sexual reproductive health and rights, learn to manage menstrual health effectively, and eradicate gender-based violence. It is very essential for young girls to learn to manage their period and best practices to manage it.
Anshu and Ritik are the dedicated leaders for this campaign, trained by CAC, and they have trained 60 coaches, including 40 female coaches, impacting 250 young people. Players find this information very useful as it is still a stigma to talk about such issues openly in the communities.

Young Leaders Program
The Young Leaders Programme is a key ‘football for development’ initiative that is crucial for the long-term sustainability of our cause. Youth from low-income villages, including previous RIGHT TO KICK beneficiaries, are trained to work closely with children from underprivileged communities to create community leaders and role models for future generations.
RIGHT TO KICK also develops the employability of Young Leaders by conducting workshops, organizing exposure visits, and providing various opportunities for internships.

Community Intervention
Right to Kick continues to diligently advocate for child rights in our community, with a strong focus on preventing child marriage, ensuring consistent school attendance, promoting health, and fostering participation in sports and play. Through impactful initiatives like awareness rallies, Nukkad Nataks, and engaging parent meetings, we strive to educate and empower families. Our committed team conducts regular door-to-door visits to monitor school attendance, address challenges faced by children, and communicate with parents about the importance of our mission.
A parent recently shared their positive experience: “After connecting with Right to Kick, my child is now attending school regularly, and I’ve noticed significant improvements in their behavior. They’ve become more responsible both at school and at home, thanks to the support and guidance provided.”
Furthermore, our efforts extend beyond awareness campaigns to provide tangible support and resources for children and families in need. By collaborating with local authorities and organizations, we aim to create a safer and more nurturing environment where every child can thrive and fulfill their potential.
